Marko Bratković was born in 1986 in Čakovec. In July 2010, he graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences with a degree in Croatian language and Latin, and in May 2011, he completed his law studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. During his studies, he received multiple Dean’s Awards, awards for academic excellence, and the Rector’s Award. Since 2012, he has been working at the Chair of Civil Procedure Law at the Faculty of Law. He pursued further professional development during study visits at Maastricht University, the Europa-Institut in Saarbrücken, the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg, the Max Planck Institute in Luxembourg, and the Complutense University of Madrid. In December 2014, he passed the bar exam. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Scientific Council for Public Administration, Judiciary, and Rule of Law of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is also a member of the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL). In 2018, he defended his doctoral dissertation Revision Permitted by Supreme Court (Revizija po dopuštenju) with the distinction summa cum laude. He was appointed assistant professor in 2019 and associate professor in 2024. In 2022, he received the Marko Petrak Award for the best scientific work by a young researcher at the Faculty of Law. His book Revision Permitted by Supreme Court received recognition from the Dr. sc. Jadranko Crnić Foundation as a work of importance for the advancement of the legal profession.
