Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

All participants in the publication process of Pravo u gospodarstvu (PuG, Law in Business)—including the editor-in-chief, editorial board, peer reviewers, and authors—must comply with this Statement, which is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Duties of the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board

The editor-in-chief assesses the suitability of submitted papers and appoints two independent peer reviewers.

Papers are generally published only if they receive two positive reviews. In the case of one positive review, the editor-in-chief may consult an expert from the editorial board before making a final decision.

All decisions must be based on fair and objective criteria, without discrimination based on gender, race, nationality, citizenship, religion, or other personal attributes. In cases of conflict of interest, those involved must withdraw from decision-making.

Confidentiality regarding submitted papers must be maintained. Any suspected ethical breach will be investigated, and appropriate measures will be taken.

Duties of Peer Reviewers

Papers undergo double-blind peer review. Reviewers must be experts in the relevant legal field and remain unaware of the authors' identities.

Reviews must be independent and objective, focusing on research questions, methodology, structure, style, footnotes, abstract, keywords, and bibliography.

Reviewers unable to complete their review in time or lacking sufficient expertise must promptly inform the editor-in-chief.

Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

Duties of Authors

Authors must submit original papers not published or under consideration elsewhere.

Submissions must meet scholarly, scientific, and professional standards, follow the Instructions to Authors, and include an abstract, keywords, and a bibliography.

All individuals listed as authors must have contributed significantly to the work. In cases of co-authorship, the submitting author must ensure consent from all co-authors.

Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and sources of financial support.

If an error is discovered post-publication, authors must immediately notify the editor-in-chief.
